NEW MOON IN TAURUS | SOUL ARCHAEOLOGY
As we enter Taurus season, we finally begin to land and ground after months of watery Piscean energy and a disorienting Aries season.
The Sun entered Taurus on April 19th, bringing us into one of the most beautiful seasons of the year. This is Venus embodied and integrated on the physical plane. a time that feels grounding, solid, firm, safe, and dependable after the murkiness we've been navigating.
TAURUS SEASON - PRESENCE
Taurus is a somatic sign connected to the earth, the material plane, the body, and our senses. It's about feeling and experiencing the world through stability, dependability, structure, and consistency. These qualities can be deeply resourcing for our physical bodies.
While our consciousness is airy. limitless, expansive, and boundaryless. we still inhabit physical bodies with nervous systems that crave containment, orientation, and security. The balance is to tend to the physical so that our consciousness can reach beyond it.
What I've noticed in my somatic work is that we expand more rapidly when we tend to the physical. when we're able to be with our experiences and emotions, create resourcing and regulating spaces, and nourish ourselves with supportive content and materials. When we do this, we grow, expand, and move beyond previous limitations.
THE NEW MOON IN TAURUS
On April 27th at 12:31 PM Pacific, we experience a New Moon at 7° of Taurus. This is a significant lunar event for several reasons:
It's the first new moon outside the 9-degree chain of new moons we've had since November 2024
It marks the end of eclipse season
It forms part of a fixed grand cross with Mars, Pluto, and Lilith
This new moon is grounding and orienting, it's also confronting and intense. But we have the tools, resources, and safety we've built in our systems from the long run of emotional processing we've been doing with Mars in Cancer.
THE FIXED GRAND CROSS
This New Moon in Taurus is immediately confronted by Mars in Leo and Pluto in Aquarius, which are opposing each other at 3° (the final of three oppositions that began in November 2024). With the Sun and Moon in Taurus opposite Lilith in Scorpio, we have a fixed grand cross. two oppositions and four squares, all in fixed signs.
This configuration is trying to help us break out of something. a belief, a pattern, a place where we feel stuck or trapped. It's literally a breaking point, asking us to choose between the old way and the new way.
The intensity of this new moon is pushing us to:
Drop the ego Be radically honest with ourselves and others Pay attention to where we participate in our own illusions Pull from our toolbox of resources we've built over the past 5-6 years
TAURUS - THE GARDEN OF NEW BEGININGS
I see this new moon as the garden bed. the place where we've planted seeds. We finally get to step into a new chapter, but can we be with the discomfort of not knowing a little bit longer? Can we still tend to what will be, even if we don't know what that is?
We're waiting for these sprouts to emerge. Or maybe they already have emerged, but we don't know exactly what they are yet. Sometimes when I grow things, I don't remember what I planted, and then it starts to take shape and form.
This new moon asks us to honor our deep roots. What wants to be nourished within us? What resources, rituals, practices, and routines feel good and create alignment while also leaving space for change and the unknown?
I always say: the deeper our roots, the wider our branches, the more sun we can take in, the more consciousness. When we have deep roots and all that we desire uncoils from our center point. a sense of safety. when we land in the body and can actually feel what it's like to be expanded, then we can manifest whatever we want.
You might have things flying into your field all the time that you're manifesting, but if you aren't able to be present with what's emerging in your life, what's the point? You can't actually feel it.
That's the invitation of Taurus. enjoying life's pleasures. Not just pushing forward into the next thing over and over again, manifesting the next thing and the next thing, but actually being with what already is. Allowing yourself to fully sink into the present moment to truly discern what you desire.
Ask yourself:
Are you manifesting from the heart or from the ego? What actually feels good in your body?
This is the beauty of Taurus season. the sacred pause, the space to land, the ground to orient, to see and witness the change that's unfolding, and to allow that change to unfold within you as well.
We've had Uranus in Taurus asking us to embrace change, to be with change, to befriend it. It's getting ready to move into Gemini in July. This is an opportunity now, with this New Moon and Taurus season, to acknowledge where we might be afraid of change, where we resist it.
We can sometimes forget that change uncoils from within. that we can actually grow change from within us. We don't have to be smacked on the side of the head with change. We can actually allow it to emerge from our center point when we're present with it, when we give it space to be seen, when we find a safe center within us.
Change can uncoil at a comfortable rate, but it requires full presence.
PRESENCE
To receive this new moon is to choose presence, even when there's discomfort—choosing presence over escapism.
When we're present, we can practice pendulation—being with what is and then pulling out a little bit, feeling your feet, feeling your body on the earth, feeling something secure and stable around you. You don't have to force yourself to feel or experience something that's truly too uncomfortable.
This time is reminding you that you do have resources—you have the earth, support from people around you, your own body, and all of the wisdom you've cultivated through your time here on earth and beyond.
This Taurus New Moon is inviting us to:
Land in our bodies and feel what's present Connect with the earth and our physical resources Be honest about where we're stuck or resistant to change Allow change to uncoil from within at a comfortable pace Choose presence over escapism Drop into the present moment to truly receive what we're manifesting Trust our capacity to handle intensity because of the inner resources we've built
The garden is planted. The seeds are in the soil. Now is the time to tend, to nourish, to witness, and to be present as new life emerges. both within and around us.
