EMERGENCE: VENUS + MERCURY DIRECT AND A FULL MOON IN LIBRA

This month, we begin to emerge from the slumber, from the deep waters, from the spaces of reflection and the reverberation of the past. This week, we start to see more clearly what's surfacing, what's coming up through our consciousness to be examined, witnessed, and integrated.

UNDERWORLD TO EMERGENCE

We've been spending extensive time in the underworld since December 2024, with Mars retrograding until February, immediately followed by Venus and Mercury retrogrades. We remain in the shadow of Mars retrograde, accompanied by a major stellium in Pisces.

This week, we begin to feel the earth beneath us. We begin to sense the emergence of life, movement, and mobilization. The freeze is beginning to thaw, but April remains a bridge month. This is when we start to feel more in our bodies, more in the present moment, more connected to what's real and tangible in front of us.

Yet we're still pulled backward into the past. We're still navigating the shadow periods of Mercury, Venus, and Mars throughout April. Saturn, Venus, Mercury, and the North Node remain in the late degrees of Pisces until the end of April. Despite this, we'll progressively feel more warmth, more light, more illumination, and more connection to our physicality. what we can actually mobilize within our bodies and our psyche.

KEY TRANSITS THIS WEEK

This week brings significant shifts:

  • April 7th: Mercury stations direct in Pisces

  • April 12th: Full Moon in Libra, followed immediately by Venus (ruler of Libra) stationing direct in Pisces

These are moments of illumination. When a planet stations direct, it reveals somethinG. It emerges from the underworld. It brings forth information gathered through its underworld journey up through our consciousness so we can see what's been uncovered. This manifests as realizations, revelations, emotions, and clarity.

RETROGRADE PLANETS

When a planet is retrograde, its energy is drawn inward. It begins to reveal what's suppressed and fragmented, what needs light so we can emerge more whole and integrated. It draws us deeper into ourselves to reclaim and shed light on what's been shadowed, suppressed, and seeking the light of our consciousness, awareness, and love.

Retrogrades are inward journeys that help us reclaim ourselves and cross new thresholds. They're times to slow down, create space, and note what's beneath the surface. As we begin to move upward and out of this energy, we'll be called to action. to reclaim, move, and create from a space of newness and light.

Since early December, Mars retrograde has taken us on a journey of reckoning with our will and desire to act, move, mold, and change things in our lives. It's challenged us to examine how we respond when things are out of our control.

With both Mercury and Venus retrograde, we've been reviewing our relationship with ourselves, identifying unsupportive relational patterns with ourselves and others, examining how we act from our sense of will and identity, and exploring our sense of power. We've been questioning how we respond or react to life—whether we're moving from our higher heart and higher self or from a wound.

WHEN PLANETS STATION DIRECT

The experience of a planet stationing direct can be jarring. We might feel something popping up through our consciousness or awakening within us. Yet it often reveals a gift. bringing a realization, revelation, or shift in reality that you've been waiting for or seeking.

It might not initially feel like a gift, but it's something you need. the puzzle piece required to move forward along your timeline. This shift might be subtle, perhaps not even registering in your conscious awareness until weeks or months later. When a planet changes direction, it can feel jarring.

The impact depends on your personal chart. If you have late-degree mutable signs (Pisces, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Gemini), especially between 20-29 degrees, you'll feel this shift most intensely, particularly if you have personal planets there. If you have early-degree cardinal signs (Aries, Libra, Cancer, and Capricorn), you'll feel it more toward the end of April and early May.

MERCURY RETROGRADE + DIRECT

Mercury moves through the zodiac quickly as it's closest to the Sun. As the messenger of the gods, we feel Mercury retrograde prominently because it's so close to Earth, affecting our daily lives through communication, travel, and technology.

When Mercury stations retrograde, these everyday aspects don't function as usual. We might call it a mishap, miscommunication, or glitch. But what's really happening is an opportunity to rewire our relationship with these things—to improve our communication, develop patience, and work with ourselves when things don't go as planned.

Mercury retrograde might provide a reroute, pivot, or opportunity to approach situations differently. I view retrogrades as powerful opportunities to trust divine timing. I've experienced many weird reroutes, pivots, mishaps, and surprises during this Venus and Mercury retrograde period, requiring adaptability, openness to rerouting, release of control, and trust in the timeline.

When Mercury stations direct, it might reveal something, bring something to the surface, and potentially feel confusing. Both Mercury and Venus will station direct in Pisces, conjunct the North Node and Saturn, so clarity might be elusive—and that's perfectly fine.

Mercury and Venus in Pisces can be somewhat confused, lacking boundaries and clarity. They might dissolve the walls between self and other. Realizations or activations might come through your dream space more than conscious awareness. As a planet leaves its retrograde journey, stations direct, and begins moving forward through its shadow, it's navigating terrain it traversed before stationing retrograde. The energy remains somewhat murky, still seeking clarity. Things might still take time to get back online, start working again, and move smoothly.

This entire process provides fertile ground for understanding how we interact with complexity, with things not going as planned, and with our relationship to control.

ARIES: THE ZERO POINT

As Mercury and Venus move into Aries, we'll again navigate the zero point of Aries. the point of creation, the threshold between death and rebirth. We continually move back and forth across this terrain, which can make this time feel confusing, as if we're being shaken inside a snow globe.

Trust that whatever is rearranging itself beneath the surface will emerge and provide exactly what you need.

VENUS RETROGRADE + DIRECT

Venus will station direct in Pisces after navigating a complex retrograde journey:

  • March 1st: Stationed retrograde at 10° of Aries

  • March 1st-27th: Retrograde journey through Aries

  • April 12th: VENUS STATIONS DIRECT AT 24 DEGREES PISCES

In Aries, Venus is in her detriment, potentially manifesting as harsh, reactive, aggressive, or frustrated. Aries is a sign of self and will.

We've had significant focus on the Aries-Libra axis over the past two years, with the North and South Nodes in Aries and Libra since July 2023 and eclipses along this axis since April 2023. We've been in our relational underworld, examining our relational framework. the foundation from which we call in and manifest relationships. The relationships in our lives reflect our relationship with ourselves.

The North Node in Aries (July 2023 - January 2025) has been calling us into deeper connection with ourselves, revealing imbalances and unsupportive practices in our relationships.

Venus stations direct just minutes after the Full Moon in Libra on April 12th. Venus began her retrograde in Aries, asking us to examine our relationship with ourselves and reconnect to deeper layers of self to form a strong foundation for building relationships.

As Venus retrograded back into Pisces, she revealed where we lack boundaries, view life through rose-colored glasses, or live in illusion. Venus rules our relationships. with ourselves and others. how we give and receive love, and our relationship with money and values.

Moving from Aries to Pisces during retrograde has compelled us to identify where we live in illusion, romanticize relationships or financial situations, play into victim consciousness or dynamics, and feel disempowered. This journey has revealed deep subconscious patterns that aren't always clearly visible. how we participate in layers of illusion.

FULL MOON IN LIBRA

This Full Moon at 23° Libra occurs at 5:21 PM Pacific time, directly opposite the Sun and Chiron in Aries, and square to Mars in Cancer. This creates a T-square formation, generating tension that pushes us toward rebalancing our relationships.

Significantly, this is the first non-eclipse Full Moon in Libra we've had in two years, marking the beginning of a new relational chapter. It completes a cycle that began with the Solar Eclipse in Libra on October 2, 2024.

With Chiron involved, this Full Moon reveals:

  • Where we struggle with the push-pull between independence and connection

  • Our unsupportive relational patterns

  • Where we might get lost in others or avoid deeper connections out of fear

  • The cords we've created with others through shared wounds

Libra represents the 7th house of the zodiac, where we shift focus from self to other. Through Libra, we learn that peace isn't inherent but earned through practice and intention. As a cardinal air sign, Libra is curious and intellectual, constantly computing the best outcome for all parties involved.

However, in this constant search for balance, Libra can become overwhelmed by options, leading to:

  • Indecisiveness and hesitancy to commit

  • People-pleasing and self-abandonment

  • Over-intellectualizing rather than feeling

  • Dissociation when overwhelmed

MOVING FORWARD

As we progress through April, we'll gradually build momentum. The energy will shift, and we'll gain speed in manifesting the new patterns and perspectives we've been developing during these retrograde periods.

For this week specifically:

  • Spend time in nature to help rebalance your energy (Libra finds its center more easily when surrounded by the natural balance of the outdoors)

  • Pay attention to the subtle insights and revelations emerging

  • Be gentle with yourself through this transition

  • Notice where you feel called to create new balance in your relationships

This is a powerful time of rebalancing and renewal. embrace the gifts being revealed as we collectively emerge from the underworld into the light of spring.
